The Applications Engineer will anchor to create the technical bridge between the customers, external stakeholders, and internal engineering teams to identify solutions. The ideal candidate is involved alongside of the whole product development life cycle from concept to production. The Applications Engineer will report directly to the Customer Success Manager. Our North American subsidiary is based in San Diego, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technically lead the evaluation of customer requirements and identify a solution.
  • Support pre and post sales activities including video and in-person product demonstrations.
  • Drive the technical review of customer RFQs along-side with Technical Sales and internal cross functional disciplines.
  • Coordinate with other teams to resolve complex application issues.
  • Develop, sustain, and evaluate delegated business processes and related applications.
  • Provide feedback to the team regarding common application questions
  • Identify and provide resolutions ranging in complexity from medium to high.
  • Plan and record how-to and product demo videos.
  • Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
  • Manage customer expectations while working on resolving the issue.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to identify and create value propositioning.
  • Visit North American customers as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an applications/support engineer or similar role within a power-centric market.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to write detailed and accurate reports
  • Ability to resolve conflicting requirements across multiple organizations.
  • Knowledge of electronic theory
  • Must be a self-starter, work independently, detail oriented, well organized and the ability to multitask with strong work ethics.
  • Computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Must be able to pass a nationwide background check / drug screen.
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Able to lift 50lbs and willingness to operate a hand-lift.
  • Up to 10% travel or as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree; Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Typically 4-5 years relevant experience for entry to this level.
  • Requires in-depth test and measurement knowledge and experience in electric vehicle testing and the ability to work independently.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in testing power converters and inverters

Salary ray range, experience based: $76,000-$86,000 + yearly bonus.
